Got a message at facebook with the description of a new project. Which I think is very interesting and important. It is about time that people wake up and see that the eduction system needs a revolution.
In Norway the education system is bureaucratic and very little individualistic. I think that the edu.system needs a revolution on all levels.
Totally new way of thinking by out of the box people need to take the square thinking peoples place. And why should we indeed take classes we do not need for our career, and why should we pay for education and use our time on something we do not want!
Who are deciding and forcing us to take classes that ruin our pockets (but fills someone elses and make our brain square) and has no relevance to the job we are going to have!?
I have sent a message to Daniel Meadows who brought this to peoples attention and asked him if he wanted to come and tell us more about this project on our blog. Hope he will!

Look at the description:
-to eliminate educational requirements that force students to learn things irrelevant to their majors
Description: Our goal is to have lifted any requirements that force students to take classes irrelevant to their future careers. Such classes are unnecessary burdens of time and finance.
For example, why should someone whose major is elementary education be required to learn calculus or advanced algebra? Or, why should an English language major be required to required to learn biology or chemistry?
This is a very important issue faced by countless students. Unfortunately, many students feel incapable of doing anything about it.
The creator of this group would like to encourage each of you to do something in the vein of the following: approach a local elementary school principal and compell them to take an example of a calculus or advanced algebra test; or, approach a professional author and compell them to take an example of a biology or chemistry test.
Those of you who are brave enough are also encouraged to approach the principals or presidents of your schools and, after asking them whether or not their having taken a certain irrelevant subject ever benefited them, compell them to take a test in that very subject. When, as expected, they fail it, ask them why you yourself should take its corresponding class. Please be sure to video tape the entire conversation, as well as the actual test-taking (do NOT let them finish it outside of your presence, lest they cheat).
Positions: Some so-called "core" classes will never be relevant to many students.
A student's time is precious.
A student's money is precious.
